Is this necklace is worth? Is there a decent investment?
It's my birthday with a GF and I want to get her this necklace: culture water Sweet Pearl Pendant with 14K White Gold 1 / 3 CT. TW Enhanced Black and White Diamonds http://www.zales.com/product/index.jsp?p … However, I do not just want to get her an expensive necklace which the parties (the pearl and diamond) does not reflect the price. So if you can judge this kind of thing, or give me some advice on the way, I'd be grateful. In my opinion, this necklace is part of fashion, not an investment. I presume that your girlfriend is young enough, I would not buy this piece for someone older. I find it quite expensive, but if it the look you want is what you pay for it. The parties do not reflect the price in my opinion. The amount of diamonds 1 / 3 of a carat, there seems to be a lot of small stones. They say nothing about the quality of the stone, they are probably the commercial quality. The black stones are dyed or enhanced. They are very cheap anyway. The ad does not say how many points (1 / 3 carat equals 30 points) are cheap and how many are black diamonds more expensive white diamonds, they cleverly leave out any information. Cultured pearls are freshwater inexpensive, unless they are of superior quality, but there's nothing really to say about quality. I do not like the pearl is just stuck, but it is a preference personal. I do not like glue in jewelry. The box chain is very thin, they do not say how heavy the chain is the width and closure – Spring ring clasp – is the cheapest on the market (better would clasp lobster claw, etc.) issues. If I were to buy this piece, I would ask more years one on quality and weight. They did not report a total weight of the piece. I would also like to know if this is cheap nickel white gold and rhodium plated or if it is of the highest quality white gold with platinum or palladium in the alloy. But again, it a piece of fashion. The price is for the look, not so much intrinsic value. If it's something that you know your girlfriend will love it, go ahead. Cheers
