How are rubies made false and what are they made?
Just curious. I had a class ring made by Balfour and the stone is fake, but they tell me not what it is.
Rubies (natural or synthetic) bright red fluorescence under UV light. Red glass and other red stones have generally not do so. So if your stone glows red under ultraviolet light, it is likely that a synthetic. Synthetic ruby is not useful, but it is equally as beautiful and durable natural -. Ruby is corundum (aluminum oxide = = aluminum) with a piece of iron contamination, if I remember well.
