I sell sterling silver retail fashion jewelry in Missouri. I have a tax ID #, a Federal ID #, and operating permits seli of detail. I usually buy salons in the U.S. however, I would like to buy directly from jewelry manufacturers in China or Thailand. I've never imported before. I am a sole proprietor and work alone. I have no clue how to start. Please point me in the right direction. Thank U
I suggest you go to China personally. Guangzhou is a good starting point. And almost Hong Kong, where you can get a little R & R. As first suggested answer, you can check alibaba or www.asiansources.com. Establish contacts and advise them about your intended journey if you have someone to show you around the place. Try to contact some "agent" of companies also become more flexible. These agents tend to put you in shopping markets-exposure in a group of specialized product lines. Companies these markets generally allow small minimum orders from manufacturers. And even if they should generally be more expensive, you might surprised to see that you can do good business from them too.
