How durable is a sterling silver ring in white gold-coated thick?
Looking to buy a Claddagh Ring Irish for my girlfriend for Valentine's Day. I have a choice between a sterling silver ring gold coated thick white or who is simply in sterling silver. I know nothing about jewelry can someone tell me which is better?
the gold plating white add color a "cold" to money and avoid tarnishing while he is there. plating "thick" means nothing if it indicates how thick it really is. Sterling money has a warmer color and scratch a little easier. It will also tarnish (darken) after a while, but that is easily cleaned and with wear regularly should not be a problem too. How long will veneers last? It depends on the thickness of the sheet, how frequency band is worn and what type of activities that your girlfriend does with the ring on (gardening, etc.). I personally do not like the veneer white gold. For me, money is like rhodium plated costume jewelry. Like "ages" of the money. Small scratches, little tarnish, which will be installed in scratches, etc. It gives the jewelry real personality.
