How can there be two sorts of Swiss Army watches?
It is Wenger and Victorinox. If I understand correctly, they are completely independent manufacturers from the same brand. Can they really the same brand? Are there any other brand products of all kinds with different competing manufacturers?
I ahdn't heard. But yes, it could be two or more manufacturers of the same brand. Many brands have their products manufactured for them. Many Swiss watches have Japanese quartz components with Swiss mechanical parts. The name Swiss Army is the property of Victronix however that they may permit that they want. It is common practice and you might be surprised how many products are made this way. Take a look at cars, Honda Passport is made by Isuzu.
