Does anyone out there know of a way to "protect" fake jewelry?
I bought a really pretty ring realistic consultant at Wal-Mart for $ 10.00 recently – it looks like real diamonds – but it is the cubic zirconia and the chassis is in polished metal. I was told by someone who, to protect the CZ and keep it as shiny as possible, put a couple coats of clear nail polish on him – which seems to work, but what about the metal? Would clear varnish to protect it too? The reason I ask is that sometimes it is hard to remember to remove it when I wash my hands. If it was money, it would be easier, but oh well. (I'd probably be there Just buy some rings because they are so cheap — but it is difficult to find very many in my finger size). Thank you. 
Just put your money and get a real diamond / ruby / etc. It will be much better and will not fade or look like crap with a hand wash.
